Photograph Exhibitions

 

 

Since 1991, many exhibitions have been organised in France and abroad in order to show the public some of Auguste François’s photographs, particularly those taken in South China and in Tonkin. These exhibitions were organised in very different contexts. Many gave rise to conferences or events devoted to Auguste François, usually involving slide projections or film screenings. Visitors enjoyed the technical and artistic quality of the photographs displayed as well as their historical value. They were also touched by the author’s personality, which shined through in the comments accompanying his photographs.
